  15. i have a few questions on linux.

  17. 1.  when i boot up linux using the floppy disk, i see the following messages:
  18.     Warning WD8013 board not found at i/o = 280.
  19.     ioctl: invalid argument
  20.     are they normal?
  21.  
  22. 2.  i set up a 10MB swap partition using fdisk by specifing it as a Linux swap
  23.     partition.  how do i know that linux is using it as swap memory?  how can
  24.     i check the current free memory?

  26. 3.  how can i change the node name from "softland" to something i like?
