- I think that most PC UN*Xes now adays can coexist w/ other OS's in peace.

- Well, I don't want to start OS wars, because they are a waste of bandwith!
- ANYWAY, IMHO :
-
- I like both systems. Linux has GNU cc, GNU Emacs, and X-Windows. This
- is what I really wanted, so I switched from Coherent. Coherent has promised
- these things, but I really couldn't wait. Coherent had great docs, and
- everything I tried to compile compiled ok. As for Linux (although I have
- only had it for a few weeks), I found that things change too fast. It's
- somewhat harder to get things running because the kernel keeps changing.
- I guess it comes down to this: if I were doing commerical software
- development, or if I knew little about UN*X, I would go for Coherent.
- However, being well versed in UN*X sysadmin tasks, I can debug problems with
- Linux realtively easily. On my Linux system, I can do work for school in
- ANSI C (no ANSI C compiler on Coh.) and use the tools that I am used to.
- That's enough for now. When I outgrow Linux, I will probably switch to
- Univel, if it is in my price range.
