  10. I had the same problem and spent many hours recompiling the
  11. kernel before it eventually went away. I think I fixed by
  12. turning off the /proc file system when in make config.

  14. The ps problem is easily fixed by altering ps's database
  15. with (I think) ps -U somefileorother towards the end of the
  16. kernel build process.
