  12. SCSI devices are designed to be daisy chained on a SINGLE SCSI controller
  13. within your PC.  Since the PAS-16 seem to have the SCSI controller built in,
  14. you have to remove the Adaptec controller card and daisy chain the Quantum
  15. drive to the PAS-16 controller card.  If the NEC-84 has a second SCSI socket,
  16. you should be able to plug the drive cable from the Quantum drive to the CDROM.
  17. If there is no extra SCSI connector on either the Quantum or NEC-84, you need
  18. special SCSI cable with multiple connectors.

  22. 1. SCSI devices requires an unique device id.  Your default setting on the NEC
  23.    or Quantum may need to be reset.  Start with the Quantum as device 0 if in
  24.    doubt.  You'll need to consult your manuals to locate the switches/jumpers.
  25. 2. SCSI - I implementations are not so standard across manufacturers.  There
  26.    is still a remote possibility that the Quantum drive may not work with the
  27.    PAS-16 SCSI controller.

  29. If the PAS-16 controller seems to the the problem, see if you can disable it
  30. and run both the Quantum and NEC-84 off the Adaptec.
