- I just got the multimedia upgrade kit from Media Vision.
- The kit contains the PAS-16 sound card and the NEC-84 cdrom drive.
- I installed the card and connected it to the cdrom drive.
-
- I have a separate Adaptec 1522 SCSI card connected to a Quantum hard disk.
-
- When the Trantor SCSI CD driver comes up, it locates the SCSI interface
- on the PAS-16. It then identifies the cdrom drive. But then
- it proceeds to identifies another SSCI interface (the Adaptec
- SCSI card) and hangs. I can't boot up the machine.
-
- If I take out the Trantor driver from the CONFIG.SYS, then I
- can boot up the machine with Adaptec talking to the Quantum drive and
- PAS-16 with sound capability. But no cdrom.
-
- The bottom line is I cannot use the cdrom drive I just paid
- dearly for. I either get the sound capability or I can't
- even boot the machine.
-
- Any suggestion?
