  14. I just got the multimedia upgrade kit from Media Vision.
  15. The kit contains the PAS-16 sound card and the NEC-84 cdrom drive.
  16. I installed the card and connected it to the cdrom drive.

  18. I have a separate Adaptec 1522 SCSI card connected to a Quantum hard disk.
  19.  
  20. When the Trantor SCSI CD driver comes up, it locates the SCSI interface 
  21. on the PAS-16.  It then identifies the cdrom drive.  But then
  22. it proceeds to identifies another SSCI interface (the Adaptec 
  23. SCSI card) and hangs. I can't boot up the machine.

  25. If I take out the Trantor driver from the CONFIG.SYS, then I 
  26. can boot up the machine with Adaptec talking to the Quantum drive and
  27. PAS-16 with sound capability. But no cdrom.

  29. The bottom line is I cannot use the cdrom drive I just paid
  30. dearly for.  I either get the sound capability or I can't
  31. even boot the machine.
