- I have to agree with this post. One addressing scheme. Get those uucp
- hosts FQDN's. This can easily be handled by the site that connects them
- to the internet.

- The UUCP maps date back to the days when System V, Xenix et al where shipped
- with mail software that did not understand anything other than uucp
- addressing and uucp as the only transport.

- All of the currently shipping UNIX systems should have modern mail systems
- that can be configured to understand FQDN's and use either SMTP or UUCP.
- And PD software (smail 3 or smail 2.5) can be used to retrofit older systems.

- There is little excuse to continue propagating bang paths or mixed formats.

- One place to start might be to add a comment to Emily Postnews or one of
- the other FAQ's that suggests that it is not a good idea to propagate
- bang path addresses. I.e. don't put one into your .signature. Use only
- your FQDN for email.
