- Hello all. I bought a Lightning Communications 144f v.32bix faxmodem about
- 9 months ago or so. The modem has worked pretty good the whole time...until
- recently. For the last couple of months or so, it randomly hangs up and I
- find myself having to power down my machine and power up again to wake up
- the modem (I have a 486/50eisa). I tried moving the modem to an ISA slot,
- adjusting the bus speed, changing IRQs, everything to no avail. The problem
- is in the modem. Fine, just call the manufacturer, right? Wrong. Lighning
- Communications seems to have ceased to exist. I am looking for any information
- as to what has become of them. Since I bought the modem on my credit card,
- I figure my card company will take care of it, I can get my $$ back and I
- can buy an external ZyXel. Well, my card company needs proof of Lightcom's
- demise. I need to file a report with the Better Business Bureau or something
- like that. I am posting to see if there are any other Lightcomm owners out
- there that may have perhaps already gone through this mess and can help me
- avoid having to file a report and have some sort of proof already...?
-
- Thanks for any tips or suggestions.
