- I thought that I was having a similar problem, but a USR Dual Standard had
- the same problem. Turns out that my phone line had nasty distortion on the
- receive end. I've been spoiled by my Telebit T1000, which never complained
- and, when queried as to line quality, described some frequency ranges as
- imperfect. <grin>
