  39.    I have FA2.00 firmware (not the most recent, but hardly obsolete), and my 
  40. manual mentions only the following values for S50:

  43.         1       300 bps operation (Bell 103 Mode)
  44.         2       1200 bps operation (Bell 212A or V.22 Mode)
  45.         3       2400 bps operation (V.22bis Mode)
  46.         254     Attempt to connect at speed of last AT command
  47.         255     FAST operation (PEP Mode)
