- I have a Leading Edge Model D3, 386-DX 16MHz system. It is built around
- the DAEWOO motherboard. Recently I lost the COM port my internal modem
- was installed in and all the software diagnostics I've used cause
- the program to hang. I suspect the 2s/1p LSI chip. Since the 2 serial
- ports and parallel port are built into the motherboard I've been trying
- to figure a way to disable the entire chip. The manual offers no help
- on how to do so. And all the motherboard jumpers are accounted for in
- the manual, so a jumper can't be the answer.
-
- Can I just pull the chip? I've been wanting to install a game port so
- I might as well get an I/O card. But it can't coexist with the mother-
- board ports. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
