- Sorry to waste bandwidth with my ignorance, but I'm totally blank on
- modems. I have a Starteam 1200 something, and use it for a newly set up
- UUCP news/email link over a ordinary telephone line.
- You can imagine that's kind of slow.
- So I'm looking for a faster modem, but I get lost in the descriptions of
- those modems.
-
- Can anybody please enlighten me on those v.32 etc. codes? I presume
- they're names of standards, but I'd like to know a little more detail.
- Do they have a one to one relation with baudrate?
-
- A very rough price indication will also be greatly appreciated.
-
- Many thanks!
