  11. For the last several months, I had been happy with my Supra.  I had used it
  12. mainly for outgoing UUCP calls.  However, my UUCP feed went away, so
  13. I had to look for a new feed.

  15. It turns out that my Supra (all Supras?) are so sensitive to the quality
  16. of the line that of the four feeds offered to me, the modem would
  17. connect to NOT ONE!  All the modems were Telebits, but so was the modem
  18. that I used to connect to at 9600 baud, 20 miles away, with no problems
  19. several times a day.  When I say it won't connect, I either connect for
  20. a short time and then get disconnected or It won't connect at all or
  21. it will only connect at 2400 baud, etc.

  23. BTW, I am using the old ROMs because the new ones (H) would not allow
  24. my FAXes to work anymore.  And I couldn't use the renegotiation
  25. stuff anyway because UUCP doen't like that.

  27. So, unless someone thinks that the problem is either my modem or some
  28. obscure configuration (I am an active reader of this group, so I have
  29. tried almost evrything), I am selling my Supra and am going to buy
  30. a real modem.  Like a ZyXel or perhaps a Telebit (if I can take out a
  31. 2nd mortgage:-).
