  15.     We recently bought a Telebit WorldBlazer that we connect to the
  16. standard port (ttyb) of our Solbourne 5/600 server, running OS/MP 4.1.1
  17. (SunOS 4.1.1 compatible). The communication software used is PCOMM and
  18. C-kermit 5A(188). We connect our modem to a remote machine that uses
  19. Telebit's Qblazer. Both modem runs at V.32 with V.42bis. When we
  20. try to upload and download files to/from the remote modem, we only
  21. achieve a transfer rate of ~150-200cps. This figure is obtained from 
  22. the statistical report in kermit. We then move our modem onto COM2 of 
  23. our PC running MSKERMIT.  Guess what, we get a transfer rate of roughly 
  24. 1800cps. 
  25.     Is there some problem with Solbourne's serial port or is it
  26. because Solbourne is multitasking and PC is not? Can anyone give us some
  27. suggestions?
