- Hi:
-
- We recently bought a Telebit WorldBlazer that we connect to the
- standard port (ttyb) of our Solbourne 5/600 server, running OS/MP 4.1.1
- (SunOS 4.1.1 compatible). The communication software used is PCOMM and
- C-kermit 5A(188). We connect our modem to a remote machine that uses
- Telebit's Qblazer. Both modem runs at V.32 with V.42bis. When we
- try to upload and download files to/from the remote modem, we only
- achieve a transfer rate of ~150-200cps. This figure is obtained from
- the statistical report in kermit. We then move our modem onto COM2 of
- our PC running MSKERMIT. Guess what, we get a transfer rate of roughly
- 1800cps.
- Is there some problem with Solbourne's serial port or is it
- because Solbourne is multitasking and PC is not? Can anyone give us some
- suggestions?
- Any information is welcomed. We will post a summary if there
- is enough response. Thank you very much.
