  19. Yes, that's quite possible.  Whether or not the software would be 
  20. portable to different modems depends on whether or not TR-29.2 can 
  21. agree on a standard digitized audio coding scheme for the modems. 
  22. The current draft of the standard has the coding left entirely up to 
  23. the modem manufacturer.
