  11.        I'm looking for some help on a dbase program I'm writing.
  12. It's a silly problem, nevertheless, I can't get by it.  I need to know how
  13. to assign inputted text to a text variable
  14. i.e.  input "employee name? " to name
  15. (oh sorry, this` is for dBase III+)
  16. I presume I have to define the variable "name" as a character variable,
  17. but my little reference book seems to have overlooked variable definitions.
  18. Any suggestions on the proper path to follow?
