  11. Here is one more feature to ponder.  I use a screen scrollback
  12. buffer (buffit30) which captures bios screen writes to a buffer. 
  13. Very handy for some purposes.  The new pkzip confuses it.  The only
  14. things that get sent are the eolns, so that if you look at the
  15. scroll-back buffer you are faced with blank pages.  Perhaps 2.04
  16. uses some kind of a weird mix of bios and direct screen writes.  A
  17. frustrating feature.  I wish there were some method of turning off
  18. the direct writes.

  20. It begins to look that we are looking at a product that is
  21. unfinished in more respects than it should be, despite the extended
  22. waiting period :-(.  I am sure that there is much sophisticated code
  23. within 2.04 to make it an advanced compressor and to make it fast,
  24. and to get the last ounce efficiency out of the PC's individual
  25. configuration.  But for an ordinary end users it is the practial
  26. things that count, just like the many small bugs that already have
  27. been reported.  They are important however progressive the product
  28. otherwise.

  30. Since we factually seem to find ourselves in the postition of
  31. happily drooling beta testers, let's hope that these reports are
  32. seriously taken into consideration to mutual advantage.
