  15. ISO/IEC DIS 13346 is a proposed ISO standard that defines volume 
  16. and boot block recognition, volume structure, file structure and 
  17. record structure for rewritable and write-once random-access 
  18. media.  Already declared a standard by the European Computer 
  19. Manufacturers Association (ECMA), and submitted to ISO for 
  20. consideration as an International Standard in November, it is 
  21. expected to be an important interchange format for optical media.
  22.  
  23. While national and international bodies have carefully defined the 
  24. format, some activities to ensure interchangability among vendors 
  25. supporting the standard remain.  Among those are the development of 
  26. test and certification suites and agreement on how DIS 13346 
  27. implementation use and domain fields should be used to support 
  28. popular operating systems.  Clearly, progress towards making this 
  29. standard more appealing will be served if interested companies and 
  30. individuals can find ways to cooperate in these areas.  Presuming 
  31. there is agreement on some sharing of data, a protocol for the 
  32. distribution of information will also need to be agreed upon.

  34. The Marketing Department of the Greeley Storage Division of 
  35. Hewlett Packard is pleased to host a meeting to discuss these 
  36. issues February 11 and 12th, 1992 at  the HP site in Greeley, 
  37. Colorado.  Accommodations will be with the Marriot Hotel in Ft. 
  38. Collins (details are attached to this announcement).  All companies 
  39. and individuals interested in this standard and these issues are 
  40. invited to attend.  Because of space limits, parties are asked to 
  41. limit their participation to one person.

  43. A draft agenda accompanies this announcement.  You are encouraged 
  44. to provide contributions in advance of the meeting.  Please come 
  45. prepared to present any specific ideas you would like to see 
  46. discussed.  Overhead projectors, slide projectors and whiteboards 
  47. will be available.

  100. evenings of Wednesday February 10 through Friday, February 12, 
  101. 1993.  The rooms have been reserved at the HP rate of $67 per

  113. Ft. Collins is approximately 60 miles North of Denver's 
  114. Stapleton Airport.  For those renting a car, use the following 
  115. directions to get to Ft. Collins:

  117.    Exit North from the Airport exit (right) on Quebec Street 
  118.     to Interstate 270.
  119.    North on I-270 to I-76.
  120.    West on I-76 to I-25.
  121.    I-25 North to exit 265 (about 50 miles or so) which is

  123.    West (towards the mountains, across the Interstate) on 
  124.     Harmony road.  Follow the signs to the Ft. Collins Marriot

  127. There is transportation hourly from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM 
  128. between the Denver Airport and the Ft. Collins Marriot via 
  129. Airport Express.  One way fare is $14 (cash only).  Since the 
  130. meetings will be held in Greeley, about 30 miles from Ft. 
  131. Collins, it is recommended that you rent a car or arrange to 
  132. ride with someone who will have a car.
