- Lines: 35
-
- We have recently deleted SFS users (and added others) from one of our
- filepools, and the information reported on utilization has raised several
- questions which do not seem to be clearly addressed in the manuals or
- discussed before on SFS-L. The before and after numbers follow.
-
- File Num Max Memory % Occupied % Used Cat Stor Group % Util
- Pool Enrl Con Max Use CatDataBlks Index Blks 1 2 3 4
- --------- ---- --- ------- ----------- ---------- -----------------
- INST1: 1478 11 13M/32M 79 87
-
- INST1: 1098 12 13M/32M 1% 1% 84 19
-
- Our questions include:
-
- Why has the utilization percentage increased for control storage group 1, when
- the size of group 2 has decreased from 87% to 19%?
-
- Is space reclaimed in control group 1 after users are deleted?
-
- Does anyone know a way to find out what percentage of control group 1
- is actually being used, rather than how many blocks are being used? For
- example, only 50% of the space in the 84% of blocks in use may actually
- be used.
-
- Should we be concerned that control group 1 is at this level, after
- deletions?
-
- Would a FILESERV REORG reclaim space consumed by deleted entries?
-
- Should we do a FILESERV REORG regularly after mass deletions are done?
