- Subject: Nonvolatile Storage (NVS) and DASD Fast Write

- The question was presented, "I'm wondering why non-volatile storage and device
- fast write can be turned on and off separately".
-
- My guess is that nonvolatile storage (NVS) is used by the 3990 subsystem not
- only for DASD fast write (DFW), but also for Dual Copy. Being a "multi-
- purpose" type feature therefore, it would make sense why it would have its own
- separate ON/OFF functions.
