- Backgroung: MVS/XA 2.2.0 on an IBM 4381-T24
- We are preparing to do an IOCP gen for an IBM 8232, Model 2,
- and have not been able to find any direct documentation on
- defining this device in our IOCP. We have been told by IBM
- to define it as a CTC device (use UNIT=3088 in the CNTLUNIT
- macro, and then an address with either 32 or 64 addresses.)
- However if someone out there has defined one of these, I would
- very much like to compare ours to a real working
- definition for the CNTLUNIT and IODEVICE macros for the 8232.
-
- Also one other control unit that will arrive soon is an
- HDS 7980-2 (IBM 3980 equiv). There will only be 3880
- (triple density) disk behind it. Our MVSCP and 4381 IOCP
- guide and references manuals only show CNTLUNIT UNIT macros
- for the 3880. I have asked IBM but not received an answer
- if there has been an update and if we should use UNIT=3980
- in the definition. Guess I could try this and see if we
- get a gen error! If anyone has already done this, again
- your sample would be very much appreciated!
