- David,
-
- I wonder about this too. Suppose a deaf person chooses not to wear and use a
- hearing aid. Then what? Suppose the police stop a deaf person who chooses not
- to wear a hearing aid. Maybe this is a possible senerio:
-
- Police[speaking but not signing]: Where is your hearing-aid?
-
- Deaf person[signing only]: Where is your sign language?
-
- Police[louder]: I said, WHERE IS YOUR HEARING-AID??
-
- Deaf person[signing louder]: I SAID WHERE IS YOUR DEAF
- POLICE OFFICER?
-
- Police[writes a note and shows it to the deaf person]:
- Where is your hearing-aid?
-
- Deaf person[responds in writing]: Oh, I'm sorry it's at
- the hearing-aid shop being repaired.
