  13. Over the years I've been under various restrictions in British Columbia and
  14. Indiana including rear view mirrors and speed restriction.  Presently, in
  15. Washington State there are no hearing related restrictions.  This extends,
  16. I believe, to commercial vehicles and has come about due to vigorous lobbying
  17. by the Washington State Association of the Deaf.

  19. I wouldn't drive a car without external mirrors and I wouldn't buy one without
  20. dual, remotely adjustable mirrors as I now have.   With my cochlear
  21. implant, I can make out horn and some traffic noises with
  22. concentration but generally switch it off when driving as more of a
  23. distraction than an aid.
