- I have been on vacation for a while, but here is my respons. Sorry it
- comes so late. NU has a CWIS that supports about 13000 students and 4500
- staff/faculty.

-
- First it was the library and library staff with the help of 3 students.
- Now it has been moved to the Computing Center. I am the manager, and there
- are four students working for me. We also have a steering committee and
- other people from the computing center involved in the technical parts of
- the development.
-
- >3) What specific tasks are assigned to the individual(s)

-
- That is a question that would take too long to answer, but my job consists
- of collecting information, making sure information stays updated, training
- new providers of information, marketing to users and suppliers, setting
- agendas for the Steering Committee, budget requests, identifying needs for
- development, collecting and analyzing statistics for the people interested
- in those things, making sure my students have work and do it right, etc.
-
- >4) Roughly how many personnel hours (per week) are devoted

-
- 100 hours per week. (not counting the work done in the various offices that
- supply us with information.
-
- >5) How many people are assigned to administer support and
- > maintain your CWIS?
-
- me, a Gopher technical person, and two who work on my machine, 4 students,
- a team of 4 who work on development, a steering commitee of 12 officers and
- deans of the university besides myself, and a few others. It becomes a
- giant over time. :)
-

-
- So far the staffing level in our office has remained somewhat stable, but
- there is a need to grow in our third year. We are also getting better at
- involving more people on a partial basis, so as to use our resources
- better.
-
- I hope this helps, and I look forward to seing any results, if there were
- enough answers to make it interesting to post.
