- We have been sending notices via post card to patrons for years. The biggest
- compalaint is that they claim not to receive them (usually the ones requesting
- that they return an item because someone else wants it - not the one that says
- please come pick up your book). At one point we had envelopes made to send the
- post cards in because it was thought that the postal handlers took envelopes
- more seriously than post cards. However, we abandoned that as it was costly
- and did not solve the problem. Privacy was not an issue. We only listed the
- requested title, call number info - not the name or any information about the
- patron who requsted the item.
