  15. We have been sending notices via post card  to patrons for years.  The biggest
  16. compalaint is that they claim not to receive them (usually the ones requesting
  17. that they return an item because someone else wants it - not the one that says
  18. please come pick up your book).  At one point we had envelopes made to send the
  19. post cards in because it was thought that the postal handlers took envelopes
  20. more seriously than post cards.  However, we abandoned that as it was costly
  21. and did not solve the problem.  Privacy was not an issue.  We only listed the
  22. requested title, call number info - not the name or any information about the
  23. patron who requsted the item.
