  26. Well, according to Ophiel, in "The Art and Practice of Astral Projection",
  27. Starting to move into OOBE will produce strange sounds. He says that this 
  28. is because the sense of hearing is not carried over onto the higher
  29. planes, and that means that your mind tries to recreate some input, and
  30. just gets subconscious static. He asserts that the noises can take any
  31. form, including voices, malevolant, eerie, or even your mom, and get
  32. worse and worse, more and more disturbing, until eventually they peak
  33. and then just fade to a constant background hiss while you OOBE. 
  34. Apparently, his 'final noise' sounded like his water heater blowing
  35. up. He says, anyway, to ignore the noises, voice or otherwise, as
  36. they are only static/subconscious rambling, and do not represent
  37. any being in any way, not even the self really.
