- Looks like quite a few postings lately about Type B paralysis,
- which reminds me, I saw a similar one the other day and wanted to reply
- post, but before I could do so -- ZAPPP!!! it disappeared straight out
- of this newsgroup into oblivion. :-)
-
- Wonder why the net people never reports on Type A paralysis, it
- is actually more interesting, you know? Sigh. Anyway, let me describe a
- bit more so that perhaps people can come up with their Type A paralysis
- reports. Type A occurs right after Focus 10 (Robert Monroe's term for
- body asleep/mind awake) and it is not to be confused with the mild kind
- of numbness that is experienced in the first few minutes when an experient
- settles down for an oobe session. That numbness is a sign of relaxation,
- but not the paralysis. If it happens again to you the next time, well,
- you know what to do about it :).
-
- I have had several Type B paralysis in my childhood, even without
- any thought of going oobe. I find them unpleasant because it is difficult
- to control the intensity of the hypopompic (sic) consciousness. If however,
- you are fully alert and awake during Type B, and you can remain calm
- instead of being afraid, then perhaps you can try one of the methods for
- rolling out of your body...
-
- >and terrified. I tried to reach the light at least four times before
- >I forced myself to roll out of bed to break the paralysis.
-
- [some stuff deleted]
-
- >me. So, is this an OBE? I don't remember anything except the paralysis.
-
- The key question would be, did you roll out of your body in the
- physical body? If you did not, then congratulations, you have done oobe!
-
- >If anyone has ANy information, please let me know. It has been haunting me
- >for the past five or so months and now I may have found my answer
-
- Type B paralysis can indeed be frightening to someone who has
- never encountered such states of consciousness before. But so is Type A,
- or potentially any of the other experiences. If you find it unpleasant, then
- you can simply will it to go away, and you would be unlikely to encounter it
- again. This form of pre-oobe paralysis, even Type A, is just a passing phase
- that will fade away in time...
-
- One last closing remark. IMHO, OOBE is not suitable for certain types
- of people who are having heart problems, nervous disorder etc. It is the same
- with the excitement of the loops and boomerangs of roller-coasters, or one of
- those para-sailing type of activities. An OOBE experience may be equally,
- if not more exciting than a ride on one of those "devilish" machines, so
- people who wants to go into OOBE should be the type that can take some measure
- of shock, or excitement, or at least be prepared to face such situations
- psychologically.
-
- On the other hand, of course, if you are in the "pink" of health,
- and you believe your motivation for going oobe is right and just, then the
- world of starry heavens is just waiting to open up to you, one night away...
