  16.  So the media is balanced in its journalism. If so, then:

  18.  * Why is it that the media let us hear how Anita Hill said she was
  19. not here to profit off the sexual harassment issue, but they aren't
  20. here to investigate how she's making $10,000 appearances around the
  21. country now, talking about it? The media was fast to jump on Jim
  22. Bakker for his lies and cover-ups, yet Anita Hill is doing this openly
  23. and blatantly, and they aren't saying a thing.
  24.  * Why is it that the thousands of journalists in the media, were not
  25. able to notice how the armies of androgynous bra-burners (aka
  26. feminists), church-vandalizers (aka ACT-UP), anti-Semites (aka Jesse
  27. Jackson clones), human-haters (aka Earth First! activists), etc., went
  28. into hiding during this election season? Why is it that the media lay
  29. dumb and ignorant as these people all started coming out, right and
  30. left, to exact their dues from Clinton, after November 3? It took
  31. until late December for the media to even hint at it, and that was
  32. only because the bra-burners were making too loud a stink regarding
  33. Clinton's cabinet choices, for the media to ignore. Of course we all
  34. know why: the media is, with its huge army of investigative
  35. journalists, not capable of discovering things that one man alone,
  36. Rush Limbaugh, was able to predict right after the Democratic National
  37. Convention.
  38.  * Why is it that the media attacked Jesse Helms for trying to remove
  39. NEA funding for a picture of the Crucifix in a bottle of piss, yet if
  40. a similar insult had been laid on the Star of David and it was funded
  41. by the NEA, there would be a flood of charges concerning
  42. anti-Semitism?
  43.  * Why is it that the media attacks anyone who insults a Jewish rabbi,
  44. but totally shrouds over Sinead O'Connor's tearing up of a picture of
  45. the Pope? The media's reaction was so opposite to the People's - the
  46. media ignored it and the People boo'ed her out of a concert and burned
  47. her CD's in a ditch in NYC.
  48.  * Why is it that the media accuses Pat Buchanan of being a racist and
  49. a Nazi, when Pat Robertson has said absolutely nothing racist or
  50. Naziist and there is no evidence that could ever support that claim,
  51. just rumors? Why is it that, in the same breath, the media ignores
  52. comments by folks like Andrew Hackard, who says General Colin Powell
  53. only succeeded because he left "99% of his black self" behind, and the
  54. media tries to help us forget Jesse Jackson's "Welcome to Hymietown"
  55. comments to the Jews in Brooklyn?
  56.  * Why is it that the media gives us occasional propaganda about how
  57. Pat Robertson is a Nazi, but yet they never take such investigative
  58. time out to let us see how Mr. Robertson is running literacy projects
  59. in Georgia that help people with no regards to their race?
  60.  * Why is it that the media went absolutely nuts about stories on
  61. Clarence Thomas when the sexual harassment issue came up, but come Bob
  62. Packwood, the news is just a trickle?
  63.  * And of course, when was the last time you heard the words "Title 10
  64. Regulations" in the media? I bet you probably heard it by what Planned
  65. Parenthood calls it: The "Gag Rule." That's because the media always
  66. terms things or people the way liberals want it termed, not by its
  67. real name or how they term themselves. In general.
  68.  * And then when the Gag Rule was put on abstinence education in New
  69. York City's schools by Chancellor Joe Fernandez, where was the media?
  70. Where is their investigative journalism about this effort by liberals,
  71. feminists (especially feminists!) and AIDS activists, to Gag Rule
  72. abstinence education? Out to lunch, as usual.
  73.  * Where was the media when the Lansing, Michigan State Board of
  74. Education tossed out abstinence education and instead decided to teach
  75. birth control and sexual diseases for kindergarten kids, with a side
  76. comment "please wait for marriage" just to throw in a little
  77. diversity? Where was the media when Board member Annetta Miller called
  78. abstinence education "naive" and said "it's not realistic in today's
  79. age and it was not realistic 100 years ago"? Well, the Sacramento
  80. Union was there, but that's because they're a conservative newspaper.

  82. treated this way, they'd all be swarming all over the place.
  83.  * Why is it that there was such a huge media stink about sending
  84. troops to Vietnam to stop a civil war (which somehow found our
  85. opposition fueled by Russian-made hardware), yet the media is so
  86. positive about our troops going to deal with a civil war in Somalia?
  87.  * Why is it that the media went crazy about President Bush's
  88. pardoning of Caspar Weinberger and co., over the Iran-Contra scandal?
  89. Where the hell were they when Jimmy Carter pardoned all those
  90. draft-dodgers? Will we see a comparison between the two, or will we
  91. only see the inconsistent and utterly hypocritical evaluation of
  92. America's reviled, GreatDastardlyRepublicanVillain that the media has
  93. been passing off as journalism?

  96.  The answer to all these why's is:
  97.  The media destroys whole forests every year to uncover and make up
  98. big stories of corruption and dangerous thoughts coming from the
  99. Conservative side of America. They inject their own opinions and
  100. predictions into news articles, and pass that off as factual
  101. journalism. They waste tons of trees daily on their editorial pages,
  102. with opinions slamming conservatism, making up scandals and trying to
  103. find a conservative Republican to convict of something, ruining a
  104. quarter of their reputations with facts and the remaining 3/4's with
  105. lies. The media tears down the condition of America so bad that you'd
  106. be hard-pressed to understand what could possibly be drawing more
  107. immigrants to live in the United States, than any other nation in the
  108. world. (We're even getting immigrants from nations that the media say
  109. are better off than we are!) Then the media reports on how the sun is
  110. rising over our economy, the very day AFTER Clinton wins the election.
  111. The media mowed down half a forest on Jim Bakker's sex scandal, yet
  112. with Bill Clinton, they said it was not cool to press the issue of
  113. adultery. The media attacked Dan Quayle for allegedly avoiding service
  114. in Vietnam, even though he DID at least join the National Guard, and
  115. THEN in 1992, they pushed Bill Clinton's draft-dodging aside and said
  116. it "wasn't an issue." And watch what they do to President Bush's
  117. pardoning of the people involved in Iran-Contra, versus Carter's
  118. pardoning of all those draft-dodgers.
  119.  And that's long before Candice Bergen swaggers out of the powder
  120. room with her weekly copy of the "Fuck Fathers! The Daily Radical
  121. Feminist News" - er, um, I mean, her Murphy Brown script - in her
  122. hands.

  124.  And then when someone who supports their causes, fouls up or does
  125. something outrageous, the media is too busy, too ignorant, or too bent
  126. upon covering it up, to report it. It takes something BIG, like,
  127. perhaps, Oregon Senator Bob Packwood, where the media has no choice
  128. BUT to cover it because the whaleshit has hit the turbofan and is now
  129. smelling up all of Oregon. But now, will we see Packwood get the same
  130. treatment as Clarence Thomas did?
  131.  Don't bet on it. The media will protect him, just like they protect
  132. Jesse Jackson, Ted Kennedy, check-bouncers like Barbara Boxer and
  133. anti-disclosure fiends like Barbara Boxer and Tom Foley, the liar
  134. Anita Hill, etc., etc.

  136.  In other words, as you liberals have told us time and again, the
  137. media isn't biased.
