- While we're on the subject of radio ratings, does anyone know
- how exactly it is measured? Is it in anyways like the TV's Nielsen
- ratings or is it something totally different? Also how accurate
- and reliable are they?
-
-
- As for Stern in Chicago. You must understand that there are a lot
- of established stations here. A few stations are 50,000 watts or
- whatever the big huge wattage stations are, like WLUP and WGN that
- caters to the adult market. And recently a All sports station
- similar to that of WFAN in NY called WSCR the Score has been on
- and taking over the ratings. As you might know, Superfans on SNL
- is not just a skit, it shows how passionate Chicagoans are about
- Sports, Ditka, Jordan, Da Bears, Da Bulls, etc.
-
- And then there are a couple of other FM stations that cater to the
- teen/young adult crowd with more music.
-
- So basically Howard will have a uphill fight if he wants to capture
- the Chicago market.
