  16. <I have a problem to use a postscript printer as a postscript printer under VMS.
  17. <The printer is a Brother HL-10PS, it is connected serial with the DECserver200
  18. <and everything is working fine as long as I use it as a text printer, but as
  19. <soon as I send a postscript file or I connect it to a queue created with DEC's
  20. <CPS-software, it doesn't print anything. If it is connected to a text queue,
  21. <the printer tells me IGNORE DATA. If it is connected to a CPS queue, it takes
  22. <sometime and then the queue is stalled.

  36. It's my understanding that you have to create a generic queue to use with
  37. non-DEC (or unsupported) printers and not use the CPS software.  This is due to
  38. all the "communication" that DEC printers have with VMS.  The CPS software will
  39. only work with DEC, HP, Apple, etc. printers (I can't remember the whole
  40. supported list off the top of my head).

  42. We are using postscript IBM 4019s and 4029s on generic queues and sending the
  43. appropiate control codes in FORMS to change the printer's data stream between
  44. the PPDS, plotter, PCL and Postscript modes.
