- Problem:
- How can we grant the File Access to selected Users (ACL) via NET ATTRIB
- under PATHWORKS?
-
- Configuration:
- -PATHWORKS V4.1-1A, runing on VAX 3100 as File- and Disk-Server.
- -DOS V5.0/Windows V3.1, runing on several 386 and 486 Processors.
- -VMS V5.5-1
-
- Done:
- -VMS: The ID SYSMGR granted to Users U1,U2,U3 by RUN AUTHORIZE
- All Pathworks Users belong to the same Group [pcfs,*]. Their
- Directory and File Protection are default, set by PCSA_MANAGER.
-
- -DOS: Set the RMS-Protection for PATHWORKS User by:
- USE ?:\\SERVER\USERDIR%U1 PASSWORD
- NET ATTRIB x:\*.* /PROT=(S:RWED,O:RWED,G:,W:)/DEFAULT causes
- "Invalid File Format"
- NET ATTRIB x:\A*.* /PROT=(S:RWED,O:RWED,G:,W:)/DEFAULT works
-
- Grant ACL File Access to Selected Users (Group with ID=SYSMGR):
- NET ATTRIB x:\a*.* SYSMGR /ACCESS=READ+WRITE causes
- "Invalid Identifier"
-
- We consulted "Client Command Reference Manual",
- dated August 1991, Software Version PATHWORKS FOR DOS 4.1, pp 1-68.
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated
