  12.      Sayan Bhattacharyya <bhattach@quip.eecs.umich.edu>, in article
  13. <1992Dec23.234549.6952@zip.eecs.umich.edu>, was looking for antho-
  14. logies of Bengali literature, preferably poetry, translated into
  15. English.
  16.
  17.      I have not been overly successful in similar searches; but, I
  18. would, albeit with some reservations, suggest _Poetry_from_Bengal_
  19. (translated by Ron D. K. Banerjee, ISBN 0-948259-79-5).
  20.
  21.      The translations are satisfactory although, personally, I would
  22. like to see Naomi Lazard make an attempt on Bengali poems. A fairly
  23. large number of poets (e.g. Shamsher Anwar, Buddhadev Bose, Dinesh das,
  24. Jibananda Das, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Samsul Haque, and Premendra Mitra)
  25. are represented; unfortunately, this representation appears to consist
  26. almost entirely of artists from West Bengal.
  27.
  28.      Regards.
