- You might try using acrylic artist's paint diluted with some
- water. I've stained some projects that I wanted colored by
- simply painting on the diluted mixture and then wiping off
- the extra with a rag. Does a pretty nice job, and you get
- all sorts of colors, and you can mix them to create other
- colors as well. Additionally, on most of these paints you
- will find a little label indicating whether it's certified
- as being non-toxic (kind of nice when coloring toys). Most
- of these paints are art intstitute certified non-toxic and the
- few that are toxic are labeled with a skull-and-cross-bones sort
- of thing. The only thing is that they are a little expensive,
- however, a little of these paints goes a long way also.
