- My Janeil stereo processor arrived and seems to work fine, but I have
- some questions......
-
- 1) My receiver distinguishes between narrow and wide band. Does the
- distinction not apply to the Janeil?
-
- 2) In general, I have been surprised by the weakness of the radio
- signals I receive, especially the ones not on G5. KLON, from Long
- Beach on S3, comes in with a good deal of static. Is this simply the
- price I pay for my 7-foot dish, or is there anything I can do to boost
- the signal?
-
- 3) I take it that so-called VC-II stereo is not received by the
- Janeil. That leads to a problem, since my stereo amplifier only has
- one set of auxilliary input jacks. How do people handle this?
-
- And while I've got you technical wizards on the line....
-
- I occasionally experience a condition in which transponders 7-10, or
- some subset of these, fail to be received on all satellites. Does
- this sound like TI, or my receiver (HTS IV), or something else?
-
- And,
-
- Is an improvement in LNB likely to substantially improve performance
- on weaker satellites (given that 7 foot dish) or would it make more
- sense to upgrade the dish first? I have forgotton what LNB I have
- currently, but it's a safe bet that it's nothing special.
-
