- Most people CAN tune stereo (or at least mono) on scrambled channels. It is
- MUCH cheaper to put a subcarrier on a scrambled channel. Your receiver can
- be simply modified. It may be that you only need to do some creative
- programming to get around the problem.

- Since I am a programmer of an audio service that IS carried on a scrambled
- channel, I have looked into this. There are VERY FEW IRD/s that won't let
- you tune subcarrier instead of the VCII audio. There are good reasons for
- this, such as those services that have Spanish or other video related audio
- on the scrambled channel.
