- Oops! I didn't see the earlier post about Deliverance ... I am a bit slow in
- reading my messages which have been stored for 5 days.
-
- A couple of people were asking about Tom Jones, pressed by Warner Brothers.
- The quality of this disc is in my opinion poor, but that is most likely
- because of the original print--some of the scenes which take place at night
- were barely watchable. The "letterboxing" is no big deal, it isn't an
- anamorphic movie. My copy had laser lock at the end of the one of the sides,
- similar to JFK which I complained about here many weeks ago. The sound in Tom
- Jones is "Dolby stereo" in the credits, and Chase Surround Stereo on the
- jacket. It also isn't worth getting excited about. This version of the film,
- by the way, is not the original, it's one which director Tony Richardson
- edited for re-release a couple of years ago.
