- Not to be a spoilsport but because the English language is full of
- misplaced words let me say this about that. Although this may not
- be news, the tunnels and loops we are talking about here are helixes
- not spirals, but because the word helix is awkward we call them
- spirals. A spiral lies in the same plane and does not gain
- elevation. It merely gets larger with each revolution. A cork
- screw is not a spiral.
