  23. The Roaring Camp & Big Trees (narrow-gauge) RR is in Felton, California.
  24. That's probably about 400 miles from the Tehachapi loop.  Felton is a
  25. small town on Highway 9 about 6 or 7 miles from Santa Cruz.

  27. As someone else already mentioned, their looped wood trestle burned up
  28. in a (arson-caused?) forest fire many years ago.  To this day, they have
  29. not rebuilt it, but have been getting past the burned trestle by
  30. operating over some switchbacks they built after the fire.

  32. Roaring Camp RR is set in a Redwood forest area and features excursion
  33. train rides year 'round, except for Christmas.  Their engine roster
  34. includes the Dixiana, Number One.  A 42-ton, 1912 Shay.  The Sonora,
  35. Numeber Seven.  A 60-ton, 1910 Shay.  And Tuolumne, the world's oldest
  36. operating Heisler locomotive (1899).

  38. Also departing from Roaring Camp is the Santa Cruz, Big Trees & Pacific
  39. Railway Company.  It offers roundtrip excursions between Roaring Camp
  40. and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  Seasonal service.
