  14. The shay at the Eldorado County fairgrounds (actually
  15. the local historical society museum, which is at the
  16. fairgrounds) is former Diamond & Caldor #4, a 3-foot
  17. gauge engine, and the only surviving D&C engine.  As
  18. I remember it, the shay stood for years at the 
  19. fairgrounds, slowly rusting away.  It was later moved
  20. to the Camino, Placerville & Lake Tahoe for restoration.
  21. When that line folded, it came back to the historical
  22. society for display. (My facts may be a bit fuzzy but
  23. that's as I remember it after many years.)  RAILROAD
  24. MODEL CRAFTSMAN ran plans for this engine about 25 
  25. years ago.
