- almost anything. In the 50's I rode those cars on the Suntan
- Special when it went via Watsonville with GS 4449 and the like before
- changing to two 2800 Consolidations for the run up the coast to
- Santa Cruz. Top speed between San Jose and Gilroy was slightly over
- 100 mph clocked over several mileposts. Even at that time the
- orange speed board posted 79 mph but this was a white flag train
- with observation car.
