- I have one. Never bought the DAK. I posted a fairly lengthy "first night"
- review of the PR-100 recently; the only additional comments I have to make
- are that
-
- * I still think the keypad is cheesy
-
- * I have the same sort of EMI problems sitting in my living room
- as I did with the DX-440, only worse. This leads me to suspect
- that the PR-100 might be a dual-conversion receiver, or at least
- that the first IF is at a pretty high frequency (~22 MHz).
-
- * Radio Shack carries an AM-FM unit that comes in the same case
- as the PR-100. I bought the Radio Shack AC adapter to use with
- the PR-100. Reception improved.
-
- I may have further comments to offer after I return East (SWLing being
- relatively tough in my current environment).
-
- I still think that the PR-100 is at least $75 worth of radio, by current
- standards. I'm quite satisfied, having paid half that for mine.
-
- It comes with a one-year manufacturer's warranty (not that that would do
- you any good at these prices).
