  27. Boston will be there very shortly. Atlanta could be there too.
  28. The FCC also has apparently backed away from its threat to delay or
  29. block Infinity's $100million  purchase of WZLX in Boston,WZGC in Atlanta
  30. and WUSN in Chicago because of Stern's 1991 on-air remarks for which
  31. Infinity was slapped with a $600,000 fine this past week.

  33. On Friday,5 FCC comissioners took a vote and they voted 4-1 to grant the
  34. application to assign licenses of those 3 stations from Cook Inlet to
  35. Infinity.

  37. FCC Chairman Al Sikes was the only vote to opposed the sale.

  39. Speaking of Boston,WSSH-FM(99.5 "WISH",soft AC sound) was sold by Noble
  40. Broadcasting Group(I couldn't remember their name in my previous post
  41. about Boston recent radio ratings) to Granum Communications for $18.5
  42. million.
  43. Granum bought another Boston station(WBOS,92.9 "Soft Album Rock") earlier
  44. year.
  45. The WSSH deal will take 3 month for official FCC approval. According to
  46. Granum president,Herb McCord, WSSH's format will not be changed.

  48. This is the 4th such deal in the Boston market since September when the
  49. FCC relaxed its ownership regulation :

  51. 1. Infinity(WBCN FM) bought Cook Inlet's WZLX(FM).
  52. 2. Pyramid(WXKS-FM,WXKS-AM) took over Atlantic Ventures(WBMX-FM,WRKO-AM)
  53. in a friendly merger to form Boston Radio Group. BRG then also acquired
  54. WHDH-AM.

  56. 3. Greter Media(WMJX-FM) signed an agreement to buy Emmis'(WCDJ-FM)
  57. 4. Granum Comm.(WBOS-FM) signed an agreement to buy Noble's(WSSH-FM)
