- The last bodies with S/M mount produced by Pentax were the Spotmatics (some
- slightly different models). They are very reliable and robust, being one of the
- "professional" cameras in their time.
- At least the later models are equipped with TTL light meter and
- hot shoe, but I can┤t remember a AE mode.
- Since the Spotmatics seem to become collector items, you won┤t loose much money if you buy
- one now and sell it a year later. Prices here in Germany vary from 120 to 200US$ for a
- used body in good condition.
- Another altertnative would be a newer Pentax body with K,KA or KF bajonet (in other
- words: every Pentax model from ME, MX to LX and Z-1) and a S/M->K adaptor.
- The adaptor is available from Pentax and not very expensive (15 or 20 US$).
- SInce it is a small mechanical adaptor without optical elements, it doesn┤t change
- the focal length of the lensesáand you don┤t loose f-stops or get additional distortion.
- If you want to upgrade your lenses in the future its maybe a good idea to get a newer
- model wich fits your needs exactly.
