  24. This is all the camera has to go on... Short of firing a probe at the
  25. subject that can relay back ambient exposure readings...

  34. I agree.  However, that takes all the "point-and-shootedness" out of
  35. the camera.  If you know enough about the situation to pick the right
  36. programme mode, you know enough about the camera to set it all up
  37. yourself.

  44. Exactly.  I would expect that is one reason centre-weighted metering
  45. seems to be making a comeback!
