- I checked this out with a local dealer, and you're right. The N8008
- *can* drive the AF-D lenses. In addition, he noted that the plain AF
- lenses are no longer available. However, there *are* motors in the
- AF-D lenses. So Nikon N8008 owners now get to pay for the motors in
- the lenses like all we Canon owners... AND NOT GET TO USE THEM!

- In addition, the whole argument that the N8008 boosters have been
- using is that "Nikon is a more professional camera". Well, how
- professional is a camera that does not get support in focal lengths
- above 300 mm? And face it, even driving the 80-200/2.8 IF ED is a
- real challenge for the N8008s.

- Well, I don't know when the F3AF and Penteax MEF came out relative to the
- T80, but I can't imagine they were out much sooner. Though the T80 was
- a disaster, Canon managed to get it right in the end.
