- Hi I've got a question about something 'out of character" with my lab.
- He was a real slime ball the other night and just started shredding an
- old comforter(quilt/puff) that was sort of piled on the floor at the foot
- of my bed. He was following me around while I was cleaning house and I
- noticed that he stayed in the bedroom. I did notice once/maybe twice in the
- past (with that comfortor) that he seemed to get a little (ahem) weak
- kneed around the comfortor. I t was sort of in a heap and I guess...
- well I dunno. ANYWAY when I saw what he did I made him lie in a corner
- for an hour and not follow me around/play/chew on toys. I also scolded
- him..he knew he had done wrong. After he decided to snooze during his
- punishment I let him get up but didn't really "make friends" with him
- until a short while later. I don't understand why he did this out of
- the blue. He doesn't really shred anything unless it's an old sock we
- play "tug" with or something. He hasn't shredded doggie bed material
- since he was a chewy/untrained pup. I must add that our live has been
- nuts with the dog staying a few nights with me at my mothers and a few nights
- with my hubby at our house while we figure out how to dispose of one house.
- He has been to my mom's several times and spent a few week-ends there
- so he should be comfotable there.. plus we hve his crate/bed/dogdish/toys
- etc. there.
- ANY comments/ideas welcome... Do dogs get FREUDIAN?? :-)
