  12. I've not had an indoor dog before (does that matter?  perhaps I've just
  13. been negligent with my outdoor dogs), and have not had the experience
  14. of clipping a dog's nails, so I have a couple questions.

  16. Is it necessary?  Is it breed specific?  How do you know that a dog's
  17. nails need clipped?  What happens if they aren't clipped?  Why isn't
  18. this something they take care of themselves?  (Just another one of
  19. those things we bred away from the wolf in exchange for permanent
  20. puppyness?)
