- Hi gang-
- I just wanted to write to tell you about the great time we had
- visiting Hot Springs, ARK with our labrador. We were in a regular hotel
- situation but were lucky to find that there were miles of trails right off
- the hotel pool deck. Our pooch was a prince riding the elevator and
- walking through the ornate lobby. He never failed to turn heads at his
- good behavior- we all had a great time. We also took his pet porter which
- eased our conscience when leaving him alone the first few times- we
- weren't sure how he'd react in a strange place witha noisy hallway. I guess
- all those hours of obedience really paid off. We met a few other pooches
- in the hotel and all would either bark or strain the owners arm making
- certain situations a bit difficult. Oh yea the revolving doors presented
- a bit of a problem since they were really small... we haven't figured out the
- best way to approach this situation yet:-)
- Question: Any ideas on how to keep the hotel's pets ok policy in
- action?? When making reservations the manager told me that they were trying
- to get away from the pets okay policy since it carried quite a few hassles
- with it. I was wondering if a letter saying how great the place was etc.
- and how glad we were to bring our pooch etc. etc. I just don't want the
- manager to think I'm a kook as I can see his point of view too- barking,
- jumping, damage to rooms and coordinating maid service . I was really
- worried some poor house keeper would get scared to death by a strange dog-
- we used the "please do not disturb" sign quite a bit. Just seems to me if
- they had a few rules like "you must have a pet porter and use it when not in the
- room", you must scoop, etc it would help. Suggestions anyone??
- Hope everyone had a good holiday.
- Bev
