  12. Speaking of dogs and computers, how about some real interaction between
  13. a dog (any animal) and a computer.
  14.  
  15. To get your thought juices flowing...  I propose the following...
  16.  
  17. 1.  A mike connected near the dog's cage.  The mike is adjusted to close
  18. a switch if the dog is making noises (trying to dig through the bottom of
  19. the cage or what ever).
  20.  
  21. 2.  A radio set to a radio talk show.  The radio power controlled by
  22. the computer (also has a table lamp connected).
  23.  
  24. 3.  A 'nose' press pad inside of the cage near the top, within reach of the dog.
  25. The switch is also connected to the computer.

  28. The computer program:
  29.  
  30. start:
  31.     turn off radio and lamp.
  32.     set timer to 2 hours.
  33. timer_Loop:
  34.     is 'nose' switch pressed?  if so go to start:
  35.     is timer expired?  if not go to timer_loop:
  36. wake_up:
  37.     computer turns on radio and table lamp.
  38.     go to start:

  57. The second program would allow the dog to determine if it
  58. wanted the sound and light and would be kind of none invasive.  
  59. One would of course want to keep track of each time the dog pushed the
  60. switch and log all of the information etc.

  62. We could get more complicated and add a digitised voice
  63. with 'good dog' etc.....
