  24.         I am an atheist and I believe Jesus did exist.  I also 
  25. believe that he was a political figure- not a child of a god.  
  26. Here we have a man who was followed by people and worshiped by 
  27. many.  They believed in his teachings.  I am followed by many, 
  28. mostly younger people (high school age) who believe in me and 
  29. follow my teachings (in science).  I call them Quest Wanna-be's.

  31.         This is the factor that allows me to understand the man, 
  32. known historically as Jesus Christ.  In many ways, my life has 
  33. paralleled, but I am not a child of god.  I combat society 
  34. intellectually (as did Jesus) toward the goal of moral and social 
  35. prosperity.  I use science, he used religion- the goals were the 
  36. same.

  38.         Jesus was just a man, he died and finally I feel he 
  39. believed himself to be just a man.  Power can go to ones head and 
  40. when followers tell you that you are `super human' you tend to 
  41. believe it yourself (my problem as well).

  43.         The stories about super human powers are all fanciful 
  44. tales which creative, not intellectual people told.  My wanna-be 
  45. followers are not intellectual, but creative, therefore they say 
  46. things about me which are often blown to super-human proportions.  
  47. I can therefore understand how it happened with Jesus.

  49.         Check out the library- how many factual verses fictional 
  50. books are there?  My opinion holds that the bible is about 10 
  51. percent fact, "jazzed up" with fiction to make their god represent 
  52. more power than the other gods of the time.  A bit of the old 
  53. childhood "my Dad can beat up your Dad" scenerio.  Fiction is 
  54. important and prolific in our society.  It is no wonder why the 
  55. bible is filled with it.................sq
