  18. Although I love soca, roots reggae, and dancehall, my preference lies
  19. strongly in the latter.  My favorite dancehall artist is Shabba, and
  20. when I listen to his music I often try to "sing" along with him.
  21.  
  22. Trouble is, damn that man is hard to understand!  I often like to try
  23. and transcribe lyrics by listening to a song over and over, but trying
  24. to transcribe his works have been especially fruitless.  And this seems
  25. to be exactly the way Shabba likes it, he was on Arsenio Hall once and
  26. was asked "What the hell are you singing??" and he responded with
  27. something to the effect of, "It makes no difference what I'm singing".

  29. So, there are two things I'm after here:

  31. (1) I would very much like to receive lyrics by e-mail of any of his
  32. songs (with the exception of "Housecall", which I already have).  I would
  33. be more than happy to post the results of these to the music lyrics
  34. FTP archive site.

  36. (2) I think it would be interesting to post as much of a song as a
  37. person can understand, and have the rest of the net "collaborate" on
  38. figuring out the rest of the words.  For example, I am currently working
  39. on "What 'Cha Gonna Do" by Shabba & Queen Latifah.

  41. What do you think?  Does anybody have anything they can send me as per
  42. option (1) above?  What about option (2), is there any interest in doing
  43. something like this?  If so, I could post "What 'Cha Gonna Do" as the
  44. first attempt.  I have about 75% of the song figured out.
